A Word of Encouragement for Zimbabwe.
I believe God placed this message in my heart regarding the current situation of Zimbabwe and what is to soon take place. Zimbabwe is going through 4 stages of deliverance. I believe we are in Stage 3 now.
God told Noah to build an Ark because he was going to send a flood to destroy everything on earth because of the wickedness and corruption (Genesis 6:11-12). He spent 100 years building the ark as well as telling the people that God was going to send a flood. Noah must have gotten very frustrated and wondered HOW LONG is it going to take to finish the ark and convince the people he wasn’t crazy. It was a long process of ridicule and embarrassment but he obeyed God and continued.
Zimbaweans living abroad and people in Zimbabwe keep asking, “When will things come right in Zimbabwe?” The positive people keep saying things will get better, but the general response is usually “HOW LONG?”
God has promised change in Zimbabwe and we know it will come but we all want to know WHEN?
The ark was being built.
Now it is built…
The animals came from all over the earth and gathered inside the ark. (Gen 7:8-9)
The animals represent us, the people of Zimbabwe. We are a diverse people from different walks of life, different cultures, different backgrounds, but we are all in the SAME BOAT. As much as the lion, elephant, horse, sheep and tortoise gathered in the ark, we too are altogether in this. The hardships faced in Gweru, are the same hardships faced in Harare, Bulawayo, Victoria Falls, Masvingo, Beitbridge, Mutare. Power cuts, food shortages, cash shortages, fuel shortages, water cuts, import bans, hyper-inflation, corruption, unemployment, medical problems, and so on. Every single Zimbabwean has faced the same problems and although we are from different backgrounds, we are all in the SAME BOAT.
We are all in.
The storm is about to come…
When the rain started to fall, God shut the door and all those who were in the ark were safe (Genesis 7:16)
They were safe, although it didn’t feel safe.
Can you imagine how frightening it must have been to have never seen or experienced a storm and now to be stuck in a boat that has never been tested before? It would be normal for Noah and all the animals to be afraid.
At the moment, we are in the ark in Zimbabwe. We have never experienced what we are going through now and there is a lot of anxiety and uncertainty. Nobody really knows what tomorrow will bring or how long the storm will last, but the storm WILL END.
When Jesus was asleep in the boat with his disciples and there was a ferocious storm (Matthew 8:24) The disciples woke Jesus up shouting “Lord save us we are perishing!”
Doesn’t it seem like we have been crying out to Jesus and he seems to be asleep. He responded to them and said “Why are you FEARFUL, oh you of LITTLE FAITH”.
As Zimbabweans, we have been crippled by FEAR. However, God has been building boldness up within His people to prepare us for the storm. God has got a plan to save us from wickedness and corruption. He is with us (Romans 8:31 If God is for us, who can be against us). We are in the ark and we are going through the storm while evil and wickedness is perishing beneath us, we need not FEAR (Mark 5:36). FEAR must get abolished. – There is no FEAR in LOVE, but perfect LOVE casts out all FEAR. (1 John 4:18)
We as a nation must REPENT of any FEAR we have. Be it a fear of how we will survive, what we’ll eat, where we will get money, will our businesses survive etc. We must deal with this and allow for God’s LOVE to replace that FEAR. Our trust and hope must be in God alone.
The storm subsides.
The dove returns with an olive leaf..
The waters prevailed for 150 days (Gen7:24). The water began to recede and the ark came to rest on the mountain. God said to Noah to go out of the ark with his family and all the animals so that they may abound on the earth and be fruitful and multiply (Gen 8:17)
This is the most exciting part. Once FEAR, WICKEDNESS and CORRUPTION gets abolished from Zimbabwe, we will have a fresh start and begin to be FRUITFUL and MULTIPLY. It will be a wonderful time to RE-BUILD our nation. We will become the Bread Basket of Africa once more. Industry will return. Agriculture will boom. Jobs will come. Healthcare will improve. Sport will come back. Construction will begin and every other sector will begin to thrive. The good news will be preached and we will be a Light to a lost world. The Glory of God shall shine from this nation and God will use US as a testimony to the rest of the world as he did with Job. Even though Job went through so much in his life, he continued worshipping God (Job 13:15). God restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before (Job 42:10)
Zimbabweans have been through so much yet we hold on and have resilience like no other nation. Righteousness shall exalt this nation (Proverbs 14:34)
The Word of God says the first thing Noah did when he set foot on the dry ground, was HE BUILT AN ALTAR. We should always put God first. His method of deliverance may seem long and tedious to us people, but His Love never fails (1 Corinthians 13:8) and He is FAITHFUL to complete what HE has started (Phillipians 1:6)
The rebuilding process is going to be so exciting and I believe its not too far away. Weeping may endure for a night but JOY comes in the morning. (Psalm 30:5) Let us keep the faith and know that with God ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE. (Mark 10:27)
A quick prayer “Father, we thank you that you are FAITHFUL. We believe that you are in control and the battle is yours. We wrestle not against flesh and blood but against powers and principalities of darkness. We pray that you would empower ever citizen of Zimbabwe to speak life over this nation and to boldly pull down wicked strongholds that have prevailed in Zimbabwe for many years in Jesus name. We repent of fear and we pray that you fill us with your love. 1 John 4:18 We plead the blood of Jesus over our country and we declare that your PEACE would prevail. May Zimbabwe arise once more and your name be glorified. Let your will be done in Zimbabwe. In Jesus name. Amen.
