Day 5 – Proverbs 5

Day 5 – Proverbs 5

“Let your fountain be blessed, And rejoice with the wife of your youth” Proverbs 5:18

Marriage is meant to be creative and exciting. A fountain is so beautiful when the water is shooting out the top and flowing down the sides continuously. When a fountain stops working, the water becomes polluted and becomes breeding ground for germs and bacteria.

This verse is an encouragement to keep the excitement alive. It can become so easy in marriage to be “responsible” that you neglect having fun and enjoying one another. REJOICE with the wife of your youth CONTINUOUSLY like the flow of a fountain. Don’t become stagnant and stale. Find creative ways to keep the flame alive. You must allow yourself to let go of all the pressures of life to concentrate on your spouses emotional and physical needs. The rest of Chapter 5 warns about the perils of adultery and the consequences of succumbing to temptation. If the water remains pure and flowing, there will be no chance of polluting your beautiful fountain.

We are encouraged to enjoy a positive sexual relationship with our wife and be satisfied with her love. God is teaching us that sexual love can only be fulfilled in a faithful marriage built on commitment.

“As a loving deer and graceful doe, let her breasts satisfy you at all times, and ALWAYS be enraptured by her LOVE”. (Proverb 5:19.)

Lets pray…

Father, thank you for all the marriages out there. Let their fountains be blessed as each husband rejoices with the wife of his youth. May they ever be enraptured by their love for one another. We pray for any fountains that have dried up and become stagnant, that You would stir up the waters again so that they may flourish once more. Our prayer is that you give us wisdom on how to be more creative in our marriages and be more intentional about expressing our love for one another.

In Jesus name…

Amen
