Day 24 – Proverbs 24
“A wise man is strong, Yes, a man of knowledge increases strength.” Proverbs 24:5
Getting fit is not easy. It requires many hours of working hard and torturing your body to get it in optimum form. Your legs hurt, you can’t lift your arms and your heart feels like it wants to explode. Attaining WISDOM follows the same principles as getting fit. We can not separate WISDOM from HARDWORK.
At first, the thought of your muscles burning may seem daunting, but when you begin to see the results, you look forward to the tough workouts. The ‘toughness’ becomes your friend and instead of avoiding it, you go out looking for it. “Yes, a man of knowledge increases strength.” We must stay developing ourselves and looking for ways to increase our wisdom even when it seems difficult.
When God wants to develop our strength, He will present us with challenges to cause us to grow and get STRONGER. If He is working on our patience, He will give us an irritating person to deal with or cause us to be inconvenienced.
We do well by embracing trials as a means of developing our STRENGTH. At the end of a tough day, we must ask ourselves, what did we learn and how could we do it better tomorrow? The next day, we must use the WISDOM we have learned, to test the STRENGTH we have GAINED.
Increasing STRENGTH and KNOWLEDGE in your work will open doors for you. Hard work, dedication and discipline always has fantastic rewards. “Do you see a man who excels in his work, he will stand before kings, he will not stand before unknown men” Proverbs 22:29
Father, we thank you for strengthening us. Sometimes it may not be easy, but we thank you that through it all we are coming out stronger and wiser. Help us to pursue our gifts and callings and to excel in them. May we apply ourselves diligently to study and to remain disciplined in developing our skills. You have destined us for great things and we want to prepare ourselves to stand before kings.
In Jesus name…
