Day 30 – Proverbs 30

Day 30 – Proverbs 30

“A spider skillfully grasps with its hands and it is in kings palaces.” Proverbs 30:28

Nature is amazing! Even the smallest and creepiest creatures just KNOW what to do. Spiders don’t go to varsity to get a degree on how to spin a web. It is something that they are born with and what they are gifted to do.

We have all been born with a gift and it is our job to use that gift SKILLFULLY. Some of the best chefs, artists, singers and musicians did not get trained, they just knew what to do. Once their gift had been identified, much time was spent developing it. “Do you see a man who excels in his gift, he will stand before kings, he will not stand before unknown men” Proverbs 22:29

As human beings, we are easily influenced by our friends and colleagues. We can invest so much time doing something that our hands were not designed to do, merely to fit in. Being who we are can be a very difficult thing to do especially when everyone is going one way and we seem to be going the other. God has given each of us a gift and we should not allow peer pressure to deafen our ears. “I called but no one listened, I stretched out my hand but no one paid attention” Proverbs 1:24

We are responsible for our own destiny. A spider does not spin a web for other spiders. It has to do it for itself. We must dare to dream and believe that the gift God has given us will bear fruit and cause us to excel. We must have the confidence to go beyond our comfort zone in to places we have only dreamt of [kings palaces] and build our destiny [skillfully grasp with our hands]. If spiders do not rule themselves out of building in great places, then why should we?  “A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men” Proverbs 18:16

Lets pray…

Heavenly Father,  Stir up the gifts that you have given us and give us Wisdom to skillfully develop them. Let us not neglect our gifts or be influenced away from what you have called us to. Help us to have a greater vision for our lives and to believe the best for ourselves and the amazing plans You have in store for us. In our quest for Wisdom, keep us humble and teachable.

In Jesus name…
